Berg by Ann Quin is a darkly surreal, experimental novel that delves into the fragmented psyche of its protagonist, Alistair Berg, as he arrives in a grim seaside town with a plot to murder his estranged father. Quin’s prose is both lyrical and unsettling, capturing the alienation and chaos of her antihero's inner world.
We are a book club and slow reading community for literary creatives who seek smart, discerning content about literature and the arts. We disregard the trendy in order to pay reverence to the classics, the canonical, the overlooked, and new works that endure over time and touch lives as resources for creative practice, reflective selfhood, and personal style. By way of interviews and conversations, as well as community notes and curations, we cultivate our own taste to bring our coterie the books we know are excellent.
