So Textual is seeking a dynamic, thoughtful, and culturally fluent Host to lead our monthly Book Club—our core offering and the heart of our membership.

As Host, you’ll shape the member experience, spark conversation, facilitate meaning-making, and cultivate a sense of belonging for readers across the globe. You’ll lead two virtual gatherings each month, welcome new members with warmth and intention, and help build a book club that feels essential, smart, and alive.

What You’ll Do:
– Lead two monthly virtual Book Club sessions (Mid-Month Salon + End-of-Month Discussion)
– Welcome new members with personal outreach and onboarding
– Create 1–2 short Instagram videos each month
– Contribute original thought/writing, and organize member contributions on a final document
– Moderate and energize our Circle forum conversations
– Track member engagement and help reduce churn
– Collaborate with a small community engagement team
– Contribute to a reading culture that’s as stylish as it is smart

You’re a great fit if you:
– Are warm, articulate, and culturally literate
– Know how to host a room, not just moderate a discussion
– Love literature, aesthetics, and internet subcultures
– Are familiar with the types of books we discuss and recommend
– Are self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
– Have a great camera presence and clear written communication

This is a part-time position, beginning at 10-15 hours per week.
Hours are flexible, but must be available during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Pay starts at $20/hour, with opportunities for growth based on performance.
